John is a self-made entrepreneur and visionary, with an eye for adding value and creating wealth. His hunger for success and will to win, has resulted in building a successful property and business empire that is reaching towards half a billion dollars.

He is a hands-on business manager and formed the Stonewood Group with his brother Michael in 1999. Today the Group’s interests diverge across group home building, commercial property, hotel development, investment, gyms, serviced offices, and food courts.

Since 2007, Stonewood Homes Owner and Director (Queenstown & Wanaka), Mark Harry, has been delivering builds on time, on budget and with an exceptional experience which he prides as the reason why his business has stood the test of time.

Mark is also a registered Master Builder, as well as an award-winning builder taking away several awards in many House of the Year categories.

John Bolton (JB) cashed in his superannuation and founded Squirrel in 2008 at the height of the GFC. JB is a former General Manager at ANZ where he was responsible for the bank’s $60 billion of retail lending and deposits. He has 10 years of senior banking experience behind him in financial markets, treasury, finance, and strategy and is a director of Financial Advice New Zealand, the industry body for financial advisers.

JB has bought, sold, traded and developed property around Auckland and has the scars to prove it. (When not embarking on one of his many ventures, JB can be found skiing dangerously or eating sashimi).
