Susan & David Dalgety were “blown away” that their new Kaiapoi home was awarded House of the Year in their price category in 2015. It’s now been 3 years and they still love their Stonewood home.
The highlights of the Peter Mannion-designed Linkwater plan are “the great design, indoor/outdoor flow for entertaining, its dry and warm – and two bathrooms come in handy with three daughters visiting regularly” says Sue Dalgety, the proud homeowner.
“A Stonewood showhome and good sales service sold it for us and the Linkwater 187 was our favourite plan chosen from all of the new home companies we researched”. A common gripe from building clients is lack of communication, Sue said the dealings with Project Management were open and clear, they promptly fixed any issues and Stonewood Homes even gave the property a good spruce up before the photographers covered the awards. Today the home still looks pristine and has weathered the elements well.
With an aesthetic reminiscent of a villa, Sue and David checked off their wishlist satisfying both functionality and design, their beautiful home is built to capture all-day sunshine featuring claddings in STO plaster and Palliside accents. The total size of the home is 214m2 including the covered alfresco area, this was added as the section was bigger than initially intended. “It’s much easier to maintain than our last place,” says Sue. The outdoor spa also comes in handy in the colder months!
A few years on, moving from a 50-year-old home to a comfortable and plush abode with their own added personal touch, they are looking forward to retiring there, and Sue and David wouldn’t change a thing.
